Sucupira

It is a medium sized tree that can reach between 10 and 30 m. Erect and has a cylindrical body with fine and rough bark, 30 to 50 cm in diameter. The canopy is rounded and thin with the pine-compound leaves. Its fruit is kind legume (pod) flat with one or two seeds. Blooms in the months of October and November and the flower is lilac with about 9-11 cm long. Both its root nodules, like the bark and seeds are used in the pharmaceutical industry.
